The Chandir are a humanoid species originally native to the planet Chand-Arand.
In 2256, the Chandir government saw that the core of their planet was due to implode within ten years. However, in 2265, the core had began to implode a year earlier than expected, resulting in a massive exodus from the planet. Prior to implosion, the Terran Federation granted several Chandir refugees asylum in their space, allowing them to assimilate into their society.
